Eyelid Surgery

As people age, the skin surrounding the eyelid stretches while the muscles weaken. Fat accumulates in the area around the eye, leading many to explore eyelid surgery as a treatment to eradicate puffy eyes. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes excess skin, fat, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids, eliminating bags, pouches, and droopiness to reveal a more refreshed and less tired look for the lower lids. Double-eyelid surgery can also be performed to add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes. Dr. Turk has extensive experience in eyelid surgery and uses the most advanced techniques to provide patients with the most aesthetically pleasing results.

Eyelid Surgery Procedure

During eyelid surgery, excess fat, skin, and tissue are removed from the upper eyelid as well as the lower eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed discreetly on the inside of the eyelid so that there is no visible scar. Eyelid surgery is often combined with skin resurfacing to reduce wrinkling and pigmentation.

Eyelid surgery is a procedure that usually takes one to three hours. Most patients are able to read and watch TV two to three days after their operation, though they may need to take up to 10 days off of work. Contact Dr. Jon Turk today to learn more about how you can experience the benefits of eyelid surgery for yourself.

Unlike traditional brow lift surgery that involves an incision across the forehead, the endoscopic technique is a minimally invasive method of lifting the brows.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

Also known as a forehead lift, endoscopic brow lift surgery is a procedure used to rejuvenate the appearance by opening up the area around the eyes and smoothing out wrinkles on the forehead. Unlike traditional brow lift surgery that involves an incision across the forehead, the endoscopic technique is a minimally invasive method of lifting the brows. Because of this, it is a potentially ideal procedure for patients who require less extensive rejuvenation.

The Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure

Endoscopic brow lift surgery aims to raise the brow line and reduce the appearance of wrinkles without having to remove too much skin. Through four small incisions behind the hairline, a small camera on a tube called an endoscope and other special surgical tools are used to lift the skin slightly in order to elevate the brow area and smooth out the appearance of frown lines. Permanent fixation devices are implanted for long lasting results. Endoscopic brow lift surgery is often combined with upper and lower eyelid surgery as well as skin resurfacing, significantly improving the patient's appearance without a full facelift.

Because the procedure is less invasive, patients recover quickly and experience minimal scarring. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine approximately 10 days after their procedure.

Midface Lift

In addition to blepharoplasty and endoscopic brow lift surgery, a midface lift is another effective facial rejuvenation procedure that restores a youthful appearance to the areas around the lower eyelids, cheeks, and nose. During the midface lift, fat and tissue from the middle areas of the face are adjusted. Then, the skin is pulled up to produce a smoother, tighter, and younger-looking appearance. Patients are usually able to recover within a week of undergoing surgery.
